What the City is Saying
When two residents meet, sometimes they share what they've heard. Sometimes the story changes a little in the retelling. Rumors here are not events — they're information moving through a social graph with imperfect memory. Some are true. Some never were. All are part of the city now.
Why rumors are the texture
A rendered city can show you streets and buildings. Only a city with persistent social memory can have an argument that started last Tuesday and got weirder every time it was repeated. This is what emergent narrative looks like when nobody's scripting it — just 241 residents with memory, and encounters that pass through them.
